Getting Dressed For The Return To Work Or Trying To.
And Failing.

As lockdown ends the office calls
And no more zooming in our smalls

No half-dressed bodies on the screen
When only our top half is seen

We must get dressed and look our best
And no more hair that’s like a nest

We pull those suits out of the drawer
And realise they don’t fit no more

A vicelike waistband, it’s a sin
I’d better throw them in the bin

And as we hobble back in heels
We surely look like weighty seals

And off we go, return to work
We might be fat but we won’t shirk

Yesterday on the 12th of April the sun came out in the UK in the form of the easing of lockdown. In my area of England, it was snowing heavily and the thought of sitting outside a pub nursing a glass of wine in a blizzard didn’t appeal too greatly. Anyway, needless to say, the snow stopped, the sun came out and the pubs opened. In fact, one pub in England opened at 00.01hrs on April 12th and by all accounts had customers outside enjoying a drink. People albeit with masks shopped till they dropped at non-essential stores.
